Kajsa’s journey to launching her coaching and blog platform, Life with Kajsa, began over a decade ago in Los Angeles, California. Her deep concern for the planet’s environmental challenges sparked the creation of her first blog, Life of Mjau. In this space, she explored ways to inspire herself and others to live more sustainably.
As her own personal journey unfolded, she pursued a certification in health coaching and underwent a profound spiritual awakening. Four years ago, after her Instagram account was hacked, Kajsa rebranded herself and birthed Life with Kajsa, which expanded her mission to encompass not just sustainable living but holistic well-being.
Through her platform, Kajsa blends her love for the environment with her passion for mental, emotional, and physical health. Her coaching philosophy emphasizes the connection between caring for oneself and the planet, teaching that we can positively impact the world by internally healing.
By integrating nature and spirituality into her practices, Kajsa offers a grounded, heartfelt approach to living a life full of purpose and harmony with the Earth. Today, her platform serves as a beacon for individuals looking to reclaim their health, find balance, and make sustainable, conscious choices that ripple outwards.
Interview questions asked by Lauren Jones of Alter New Media. Kajsa’s answers in bold font below:
Kajsa, you’ve built a powerful platform centered around self-empowerment and holistic living. What was the initial inspiration behind launching your coaching and blog platform?
First off, thank you for your kind words. My journey started around 13 years ago, when I was living in Los Angeles with my boyfriend at the time. I was deep in despair of the destruction happening to the beautiful planet we call home.
This led me to start my first blog (Life of Mjau). It was my way to inspire both myself and others to live more sustainably and holistically. Four years ago, that Instagram account was hacked, and I birthed my current brand, Life With Kajsa. By then I was a certified health coach and deep into my own spiritual awakening and decided to merge that with my initial passion for a sustainable lifestyle.
I like to think of my blog as a place to gain knowledge and inspiration on how to live your best life and have it ripple out from within you, touching the world as a whole. You emphasize the connection between personal well-being and environmental care.
How did you see these two aspects as interconnected, and how do you incorporate this into your coaching philosophy?
There are two ways I can answer this. The simple one: You know and treat others the way you know and treat yourself.
In a more refined answer, it’s my experience that people who feel good do good. Healthy food (organic and non-processed) makes you feel good and has a lighter impact on the planet, as a very simple and easy example. All change that ever happened in the world first started within on a personal level.
My personal journey, suffering from both mental/emotional and physical disease, made me realise that one cannot just stuff themselves full of supplements and think that all will be well.
You have to address your core wounds deep within, and in the process of doing so, profound self-compassion and love are rediscovered. When you start living from these core values and emotions, you start seeing and reaction to the world around you in a different, more loving way.
I use the four different elements a lot in my coaching: fire to let go and speed up, water to cleanse and heal, earth to ground and nourish, and air to transmute and move. The planet we live on is always here for us to reconnect to and I like to take her and the plant and animal world as example when teaching new ways of being to my clients. Programs like your one-on-one coaching help individuals overcome fear and self-doubt.
Can you share some key strategies you use to help clients build confidence and realize their potential?
I always start my sessions with some somatic grounding practices to help my clients drop into their bodies. Our bodies are so wise – yet in today’s society, we spend most of our time disconnected, only living from our heads.
I start asking open-ended questions about what is going on in their life to narrow down what feels the most pressing and important to change. This usually leads to untangling the strings from the past/childhood that are, to me, visibly still in play in the client’s current reality. From this understanding, I channel mantras and different practices to start to reparent and reprogram the mental/emotional body as well as the nervous system.
I also see if there are some new healthy habits that can be incorporated into a daily routine for a more wholesome life and overall well-being. I often say to my clients that I am just here to help you remember your souls truth and the universal laws that you were born knowing by heart. Many entrepreneurs face burnout while trying to balance professional growth and personal well-being.
What advice do you have for leaders who want to incorporate more holistic, sustainable practices in their lives and businesses?
This is such an important one, so thank you for asking. I think the first non-negotiable need is owning and understanding the fact that if you are not well, you cannot show up fully in this world. You need to make sure that you stay grounded and well to be able to service others in whatever field of profession you might be in.
Now, this looks different from person to person, but there are some common needs: rest and recovery, connection and community, nutrition and activity, and a spiritual connection/connection to the self. Making sure to manage your time well, saying no to things that are not aligned, and delegating tasks are all things that will serve you well. At the end of the day, time is the only currency we spend without knowing how much we have left.
Make sure that you take care of your bodies (mental, emotional, physical and spiritual) since it is the only one(s) that you are going to have until you exit from this life by changing form. Also, make sure that you are not so busy building your ideal life that you forget living.
Your blog, Life of Kajsa, covers various topics, from environmental solutions to health tips. What role do storytelling and education play in raising awareness about these topics, and how do you engage your audience?
I believe that everybody is doing their best from their level of consciousness. That means that when you know better, you do better. It’s always been important for me to present information in an easy-to-digestible, positive, and empowering way rather than just focus on all the doom and gloom that undoubtedly is very present out there. I usually keep connected to my audience on my Instagram as well as writing blog posts.
Right now, I am in the middle of rebranding myself and taking a leap of faith in my personal life, which means that I have also been taking a pause from putting out new content. I know that the younger generation loves to consume information in the form of videos, but personally, I prefer reading, hence why I still put out old-school written articles. I do, however, see myself engaging more in video format in the future.
You work with clients who are on their transformational journeys. What is most rewarding about guiding individuals through personal growth and healing processes?
I learn so much about myself and humanity in the process! It’s so inspiring to see and be a part of someone turning up their inner light and going for their desires, no matter how big or small they might seem on the outside. I also find it incredibly honouring to be trusted and allowed into someone’s inner world.
We are all interconnected in this energetical web of life. Meaning that when one of us heal we automatically heal a bit of the collective too! As a leader in the holistic lifestyle space, how do you stay grounded and continue your evolution while running a growing business?
I do not compromise about my personal time and space. Even when I am dead tired or do not feel like it, I pray and meditate. It can be for several hours or just 10 minutes, but I get it done daily. Walking with my dogs every day helps me to stay grounded in nature.
I love cooking from scratch and the knowing that I help fuel my body with the food I eat. I also make sure to reach out for help when I need it and have a few different healers I go see every month to make sure that I take care of myself and gain new perspectives on life and my personal journey.
What type of clients do you typically work with?
From the very start, my main clientele has been young women in their 20s and 30s. I see a lot of women who are just starting out on their professional journeys and others who want to try new things out after realising that their old ways are not doing it for them. Just before taking my break to rebrand and recenter myself, I started to see an uptick of women in their 40s and 50s, which I found curious and exciting!
These women have other priorities, mainly about finding more balance in their busy lives combined with a desire to regulate their nervous system to gain all the benefits that come from that. I’d say that the common thread of all my clients is that they have understood that they are the ones responsible for making the most of their lives and that they don’t have to do it alone.
What’s next for you? Are there any exciting new projects or collaborations you look forward to in the coming year?
Well, I am almost ready with my rebranding and will start to put out new content and take on new clients once again, so there is that. I am also manifesting and doing the groundwork to start a wellness centre in Mallorca, Spain.
It’s a passion project of mine where old traditions blend together with new high-tech solutions for all things wellness and graceful aging. We will offer both retreats and the option for daily classes and treatments. This way, we are not just targeting the typical customer segment of tourism but also offering a space for the local and expat community living on the island. I am so excited for what the future will bring, both for me personally but also for us as a collective!
